Design Concept: This design complements the cream rug with a faded blue-grey design by using a muted color palette and incorporating simple geometric shapes. The rabbit fabric is the focal point, creating a playful and cohesive theme.

Materials:

• Rabbit fabric (with rabbits every 1.25 inches): Sufficient to create the central design element (see calculations below).

Pattern Construction:

1. Central Design (Rabbit Fabric):

   • Option A (Squares): Cut the rabbit fabric into 2.5" x 2.5" squares. Arrange these squares to create a central 12" x 16" rectangle. This will leave approximately 3" of border on each side. You will need approximately 24 squares (adjust based on your fabric layout and desired rabbit placement).
   • Option B (Diamonds): Cut the rabbit fabric into 2.5" x 2.5" squares. Cut each square diagonally to create two triangles. Arrange these triangles to create a central 12" x 16" diamond pattern. This will require approximately 48 triangles (adjust based on your fabric layout and desired rabbit placement).

2. Background Fabric:

   • Cut light grey or cream fabric into 2.5" x 2.5" squares to fill the remaining space around the central rabbit design, creating a border of approximately 3" on all sides. You will need approximately 24 squares for a 3" border (adjust based on your chosen background color and the size of the central design).

3. Border:

   • Cut strips of dark grey or light grey fabric for the border. For a 3" border, cut four strips: two 3" x 22" and two 3" x 18". Sew these strips to the edges of the central design and background squares.

4. Assembly:

   • Sew the central design (rabbit fabric squares or diamonds) together.
   • Sew the background squares to the central design.
   • Sew the border strips to the edges of the assembled quilt top.

5. Quilting:

   • Layer the quilt top, batting, and backing fabric. Baste the layers together.
   • Quilt the layers together using a simple straight-line quilting pattern or a more decorative pattern.

6. Binding:

   • Bind the edges of the quilt with a coordinating fabric.
