Title: "Bob and Sue and the Smiling Critters" Plot: 
Bob buys the Smiling Critters despite Sue's warnings of impending mischief they may cause. Well, unbeknownst to them, these are toys with real personalities that come alive whenever no one is looking at them. Bob inadvertently turns them on when he puts on their magical pendants, playful antics ensue, and initially the family is none the wiser. As the day wears on, they finally realize their toys are alive. Before buying, Bob is misled by an advertisement saying the Smiling Critters are newly improved. He goes to Wellmart (a Walmart knockoff) online on his computer, and buys the entire collection, very expensive. In disregard for a warning label about their weird behavior, he unpacks them in the basement and inadvertently activates them by putting on their pendants. As Bob names the toys and says goodnight to them, the Critters feel crampy in their boxes, ready for a surprise the following morning, thinking Bob and Sue were into something really surprising. Info: Bob inadvertently purchases anthropomorphic toys, which Sue believes will wreak havoc. The toys only come to life when their pendants are on, and they return to being ordinary toys when the pendants are taken off. Throughout the day, the Smiling Critters get into all sorts of mischief, freezing in place whenever Bob and Sue turn their way. Catnap sometimes uses his red gas to put people around him to sleep, and the toys will mimic the real animal sound and action. Their personality is shown through dialogue between the toys, and when Bob and Sue finally catch on, they're convinced their toys are alive. Origin Story: The Smiling Critters were once eight orphaned children whose souls were converted into toys by a mad scientist at Playtime Co. They came into being in the year 1989 and have been moving from the company to the stores all over the world up to Bob and Sue's residence. Rumors: 
Before Bob buys the toys, Sue has some time to share rumors concerning the Smiling Critters with the view to caution Bob on strange occurrences like: Subtle Movements: People say that when no one is watching, the toys make slight movements, bound to bring a spooky environment into the house. Teleportation: If they are kept aside, one of the toys might just 'teleport' to another room, causing much confusion and alarm. Food Missing: Families have also reported food items disappearing or getting replaced; there are strange crumbs on the mouths of these toys as if they had been eating the stuff. Unexplained Damage: The toys can do certain things that result in broken items or messy places, blaming each other inside the family because of the same. Strange Noises: Families attest to strange, unexplained sounds of footsteps, scratching, and thumping reported; these tend to be eerie, especially if it happens at night. Mysterious Voices: People claimed to hear other voices, aside from the set phrases of the toys, as if the toys were uttering some sort of communication. Snooping on Devices: The toys are curious about gadgets such as TVs and tablets, leading to unexpected surprises when family members find videos they have not watched. Bathroom Occupancy: Some say that someone is occupied in the bathroom when no family members are present, adding mystery. While Bob is skeptical and thinks such rumors are an exaggeration, Sue believes that the rumors may hold an iota of truth, setting the scene for the playful chaos that ensues with the Smiling Critters.
